Here’s another artist that is undervalued for her contributions to music. Just call her MeShell Ndegeocello. She blends genres into something that almost anyone could listen to. Rock, Soul, Jazz, she does it all almost effortlessly. You find yourself cruising on a highway in the middle of the night? You find yourself at home on chill mode and you want something to unwind to? Here it is.

O.S.A.G. Days 88-89: I Met the Browns at The Olive Garden out in Columbia

Last Night, Best Friends A, N, Q and I went to The Olive Garden to grab a quick bite to eat before we headed out to Arundel Mills to go see Tyler Perry’s Meet The Browns. We ordered the Salad and Breadsticks (which suprisingly was NOT FREE) and I ordered the Bruschetta. They also ordered Margaritas and I ordered an Iced Tea. As we sat there, we talked and laughed like there was no tomorrow. At the table directly behind us, there was a party of about 30-40 people. They appeared to be younger than us, and (not to offend anyone) they also appeared to be African. After the first round of drinks came, everyone got loose and the jokes started flowing.

Heavy Rotation IV: Clean House Edition

Mop
As of today, my spring break is officially over. Tomorrow and Sunday, I’m back at the hospital working just like I would on any other weekend. The past 2 days, I have been at home cleaning (with the occasional break) like a hebrew slave. Dusting, Sweeping, Scrubbing, Moving Furniture, let’s just say ya boy was getting it in. In addition to scrubbing like my name was Benson, My Bose Sounddock followed me from room to room as I cleaned and it actually helped the process to move along alot faster. Growing up in my house, every Saturday was cleaning day. My mother would pop a CD into her stereo and she would be dancing, humming and having a good time while she cleaned. Now that I look back, I can definitely see where I get that from (granted I wasn’t dancing or anything like that…) Anyways, here are some of the songs that I was listening to:

What Do You Think?

After a rerun of this week’s episode of ‘The Bad Girls Club’ went off, I found myself watching (because I lost the remote) a rerun of Tyra Banks’ talk show. On this episode she posed this question:
Does Birth Order Really Matter?

She mentioned that in families that contain 2 or more children, there is usually a pattern that follows when it comes to the development of the personalities of the children.

Example:
The oldest child will be the strong, independent, responsible type
The middle child(ren) will exhibit classic symptoms of “Middle Child Syndrome”
The youngest child will be the free spirited, rebellious type.

We all know that this dynamic does not apply to every family, but do you think that this exists in most households?

For those of you that do not know who this is, this beautiful AND talented woman goes by the name of Adriana Evans. Even though she has a powerful voice and obvious beauty, she has managed to fly under the radar. I first heard about her early last year as I was surfing The Internet looking for new music. I personally think that she is the female equivalent to Van Hunt in that she does not fit within a certain genre of music. She encompasses a lot of them in her work and makes it work for her (a task that many artists cannot pull off). The video below is for my favorite song of her’s which is entitled 7 Days. Check it out.
