Off Taking Care of Business

To all six of my readers,

With me leaving for Atlanta in a little more than 24 hours, I’m spending all day today packing, cleaning and shopping and what not.

I’ll be back to Blogland on Sunday or Monday after I’m all settled in in the A.

As always, I’ll be updating my twitter (over on my sidebar) quite reguarly. Just click where it says twitter and it will take you to my most recent update (it takes awhile for the update to make it over to the site).

The other day, while fooling around on Twitter, I clicked on a link on J. Dakar’s Twitter which lead to a post on Corporate Takeover: The Mouthpiece for Hustlers. The name of the post is The Corporate Takeover of Jay-Z. The post talks about how Jay started off with Dame and Biggs with Rocafella and then how he went on to start and acquire other businesses (Rocawear, J Hotels, etc.).

The article also goes on to explain that Jay may be unable to communicate with younger generations because of his age and because of the subject matter of his more recent records.

In this day and age, with the way music is, do you think that for an artist to have a stab at longevity, they have to have many other job titles behind their name in addition to Musician?

So here we go with Heavy Rotation VII: The Road Trippin Edition. If you’ve been following this blog, you’re well aware of the fact that I have a huge road trip coming up this weekend. An 11 Hour drive to Atlanta, Georgia.

Lining Up All My Ducks…

I originally wasn’t gonna start packing until Friday, but seeing as how I already have mad running around to do on Friday, I think it would be wise of me to start getting everything ready today. Guess it’s time to start washing clothes YET again. I leave in three days and the fact that I’m moving still hasn’t hit me yet. Well, to be completely honest, I’m not nervous about the trip itself, i’m nervous about forgetting something while im en route to Atlanta.

What Are The 15 Greatest Prince Songs of All Time?

One of the most prolific legends of the last 30 Years. This man right here goes by many names: Prince, The Purple One, The Kid… Hell, he even went by a symbol for a certain amount of time. Just call him Prince. This man can do it all, from performing live, to producing new tracks for himself and others, to playing every instrument on his albums. What else is there left to say except that the man is a genius. Whatever mood you’re in, whether it’s time to party or time to get close to that special someone, Prince has music for that occasion.
