Confessions of a Suspected Workaholic

I pride myself on being a team player. When I say that, it’s meant to construe that I don’t mind coming into work when I get called in. It rarely happens, but when it does, I make my way in here. Now that I think about it, in the almost two years that I’ve worked at this spot, I’ve come every time they’ve called except for once or twice.

As I sit here at my desk I can’t help but think; do I work too much? Read more…

How Do You Feel?

I peeped this joint over on Eb the Celeb’s music blog a few days back and I’ve been bumping it ever since. It’s by Dwele, who happens to be one of my favorite singers to come out in this decade. I know many people can relate to it. Check it out!

Another Life Lesson: Purpose

My eldest brother turned 40 on January 18. Of the 40 years he’s been on this earth, he’s spent the last 17 of those years in a maximum security prison. Our relationship (if you could call it that) has been strained, and although he has tried to reach out to me on several occasions during his incarceration, I’ve resisted for reasons beyond me. I honestly don’t know why I’ve done so. I do know that it’s definitely hard to see him there, when I do go visit him. I guess if I can take the time to blog, I can take the time to type a letter to my brother, huh?

A while back, he wrote me a letter and enclosed the following quote by Ralph Marston on a sheet of paper. Unknown to him, I’ve held onto it and read it from time to time. It makes me think , and hopefully it will do the same for you. Read more…

Various Random Musings

School starts on 1/26 and I’m nervous as all hell. This semester I’m taking three math classes (Calc 3, Differential Equations, Probability & Statistics) and one Civil Engineering class (Materials of Mechanics). I’m in the process of making schedule using iCal and I sure hope I can stick with it.

If you’ve been following my blog, you know that I’ve been going hard with Photography since Winter Break started. I worry that I won’t have much time to shoot once school gets into full swing.

Last Wednesday, I had the chance to chill with Kriss and Dylan as a guest on one of my favorite podcasts, The Insanity Check. This episode was about College Days. Come through and support Kriss’ site ‘The Insanity Report’ by listening to the podcast here.
*F.Y.I.:
1. The podcast is almost 90 minutes long, so you may want to listen to this when you have the time or in increments.

2. There is a great deal of vulgar language used on the podcast, so if hearing a cuss word or 4 every few sentences isn’t your speed, you may want to skip this podcast. lol

President Obama’s Inauguration was two days ago, and I still feel a buzz around the whole thing. I’m happy to have a person that resembles me in a position of power, and I can’t help but smile everytime I see a picture of the Obama Family. Pride and skin color aside, I’ll be paying attention to how the Obama Administration handles the issues that we as a country currently face. I have faith that they’ll do what they said, but we all know how politicians have a history of being 100% honest with the people, right?

The other night after getting home from work, something told me to open the Comcast (Cable) bill. We’ve had issues with Comcast getting a little happy with charging things to our account the past couple months, so I figured that this month would be the same. When I opened the envelope, I almost turned into the Incredible Hulk in my living room. Why you ask? I saw a bill for $700. Yea. I said it. Go ahead and let it marinate. $700. For one month. We requested channels to be removed and they’ve shown up again a day or two after they were cancelled. SMH. My mother seems to think that our cable has been getting tapped into by someone, I think that Comcast just enjoys Price Gouging.

Shoot # 2: A Cold Day in Baltimore

These pictures were shot the same day of that Plane Crash in the Hudson River, but for whatever reason I’m just getting around to finishing up the proofing and sorting of them. I shot here in Baltimore in Roland Park, at Druid Hill Park, on Federal Hill, and at the Washington Monument. I intended on shooting at and around Fells Point, but, due to the fact that it was 20 degrees outside (sans gloves), getting dark rather quickly, and the fact that I received a half threat from my homie Bryan Maltier, I decided against it.

Anyways, check out the pics below (or here if you’re short on time) and drop some comments letting me know what you think!
