Es wird getan.

On Monday Morning, I did it. After spending the latter part of last week running all over campus to procure the necessary forms and transcripts and spending part of Saturday working on my resume, I submitted the application internship that I have been mentioning often on Facebook and Twitter quite a bit over the course of the past couple of weeks.

I have to admit that I’m still nervous and excited though. The internship is with the same Governmental Agency I worked with last summer. The only difference is that instead of complaining about the traffic in and around D.C., I’ll be blogging and working live and direct from Germany for eight weeks. I don’t think that I’m nervous about having the job, I think I’m nervous about the fact that the internship is in Europe. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve always wanted to travel and If selected, I’ll use the opportunity to my advantage. I’m still nervous about travelling away from my family and friends for that long period of time. The summer before last when I went to Atlanta for three months, I felt the same way I felt now. As soon as I got there, everything was cool and I actually didn’t want to come back to Baltimore when it was time to.

Who am I kidding. I already know that I have it in the bag. :)

I asked when I would hear back from the job to see if I did get the internship. I was told not to expect a response back until early February 2010.

Remember this post? Sorry for the delay in posting an update to that. Brothaman has been kinda busy lately. Anyways, here’s the update.

I went in for the extra bloodwork and was ready for whatever was thrown my way. About a week afterwards, I decided to call the doctor and he told me that everything checked out fine and that I had nothing to worry about. I still really don’t know what the cause of the Elevated Liver Enzymes were, and I honestly don’t care to know. I’m happy that I can stop worrying about things.

I spent so much time focusing on the Elevated Liver Enzymes that I forgot to mention the other things the doctor informed me of. Because of the E.L.E., the doctor wanted to schedule an Ultrasound to check for any abnormalities in my liver. After being cleared via bloodwork, the doctor didn’t mention anything else about getting the ultrasound, nor have I heard from his office about an appointment about it, so I’m assuming that it was cancelled. The doctor also referred me to a local Sleep Center to set up an appointment for a Sleep Study. Again, I feel fine and rarely if ever wake up out of breath, but the doc just wants to make sure I don’t have Sleep Apnea. That’s scheduled for next week, so I’ll update again when I hear back.

Usually, since I seem pretty healthy, I tend not to worry about my health. That thankfully changed in June. Since I’ll be turning 23 in December, I figured I’d age out of Ma Dukes’ Insurance so I scheduled a Dentist exam, my almost Yearly Doctor’s Visit and I also scheduled an Eye Exam since I haven’t had one since I was 11 or 12.

A few months back in one of my various posts on the Random things that have happened, I mentioned Crest Pro-Health and the various issues that many people have been experiencing with their problems via a link to the product’s page on Amazon.com. I alluded to, but never actually mentioned the damage that the product did to my teeth.  Let’s just say that when I went to the Dentist, in addition to the usual cleaning that takes place, he brought out the Sandpaper and an electric shaver to get the stains off my teeth (yes they were THAT BAD).  Thankfully, the stains are all gone and now I can get back to semi-smiling at people…or not. An Eye for an Eye

The other night as I was getting ready for work, I started to think of what I would want for lunch the next day. I went to the market on Sunday so I had plenty of options. I usually go shopping once every couple of weeks and end up buying enough food to last me until a few days after my next pay day. As I looked in the freezer I pulled out the unopened (or so I thought) Family Sized box of Hot Pockets. Not only had the box been opened, but HALF of the Hot Pockets were gone. Upon this discovery, I go upstairs to ask Ma Dukes what happened to my food and she called Nephew D upstairs. Here’s where it all gets interesting. Read more…

I haven’t blogged in awhile. I guess y’all have noticed that right?

I haven’t really been feeling blogging too tough since Summer Break started. It seems as if everytime i get close enough to computer to blog, it totally escapes my mind OR I couldn’t even begin to recall how to gather my thoughts into a cohesive series of paragraphs.

Maybe the fact that i’m in front of the computer the majority of the day at work doesn’t help either?

Mental Health Weekend.

That’s right. I’m off work this weekend. And contrary to what the homie Bryan Maltier says, I didn’t take off to go work a second job.

I’m heading down to Virginia to chill with my little brother and stepmom for the weekend. I intend on studying, sleeping, reading, cutting grass, meditiating, building an addition onto their house, playing x-box, and just chilling in general.

Sometimes, even ya boy needs a couple of days to get his head back together and just to relax.

This is definitely a much needed mini-vacation.

Have a good weekend everyone!

My Brain: “Yea. We’re gonna get this money over Spring Break. 5 Days off of school means 5 extra days at work. Cha-Ching!”

My Body: “Motherf****r, somebody done told you wrong! You plan on working me for 10 days straight? Yeah, ok. We’ll see about that.”
