They’re Back…

Here’s The Roots new single “Rising Up” featuring one of my favorite up and coming rappers Wale and Chrisette Michele. I’m digging the album so far, but I think the guest spots may be a little much. Is anyone else diggin this album so far?

O.S.A.G. Week 18: To Eat In or To Eat Out. That Is The Question…

The past couple of days have been relatively easy on me. Yesterday I went downtown for Jury Duty and remembered that I didn’t eat breakfast (running late, in addition to talking to an old friend I haven’t heard from in almost 4 years). The jurors were given an hour and 15 minute long lunch break, so I called Best Friend N (b/c she works downtown) and we tried to find somewhere to eat. At first we were just gonna hit up Quizno’s but seeing as how there is virtually no parking AND construction going on at every intersection, we headed down to the surprisingly crowded Inner Harbor. Fill In The Blank Friday. Well In My Case, Saturday

I copied this from Organized Noise’s spot. Just something to pass the time seeing as how I’m bored as hell here at work.

1. The song title that best describes my current [or most recent] relationship would be “Another Again” by John Legend because we went through the motions for awhile before we finally called it quits. She and I tried being friends, but that ultimately led us back to where we were before.

2. Three ways that a woman can instantly turn me off are by smoking, unnecessary loudness and not displaying some degree of intelligence.

3. If I had to attach a warning label to my heart it would read ‘Good luck trying to get this bad boy open…”

4. It would be REAL nice to come home from work and find A Billion Dollars.

5. No amount of money in the world could make me have sex with a man, eat shit, or go on ‘The Moment of Truth’.

6. The first things I usually notice about a woman are how she looks, her eyes and how she carries herself.

7. If I had it my way, I wouldn’t procrastinate so much.

8. There’s nothing more sexy than getting to see my woman wearing nothing at all. :)

9. If a man/woman wants to be a part of my life he/she has to understand that I have priorities outside of her, have a sense of humor, be able to converse about almost anything.

10. A word to describe how I plan to spend my weekend is ordinary.

Damn Jury Duty!

It’s 9:38am and I’m sitting in the waiting room bored out of my mind. *sigh*. One thing good about this is the fact that I’m getting out of my calculus exam today. Hopefully I won’t get called, but there’s always that chance. Stay tuned for further developments.

Random Thought of the Moment: “Damn, I’m bored”

Remember These Tracks?

The video for this track just came on VH1 Soul. I used to be in love with this woman back in ‘94 when she was Eddie Winslow’s crush. Remember her? If not, just watch the video and you’ll remember.

Now as far as this woman goes, I was in love with her back then as well, and I fell in love with her a few years ago when she resurfaced. U gotta love VH1 Soul man… :)

When Keepin’ It Real Goes Stupid

It is a widely known fact that most people with a melanin deficit already expect people of color to act a certain way, regardless of standing. In this video, Rev. Wright confirms that suspicion 3 times over.

Random Thoughts on Various Things.

At school, there’s only one more week of classes. After that, final exams will be underway. This semester has gone by in somewhat of a blur and I’m just happy that it’s almost all over. I only have two exams during finals week (which is definitely A good thing), and the exams also happen to be on the same day so I don’t have to worry about large gaps between having to commute across town just for an hour or two. At the beginning of the semester, I was enrolled in four classes. Testing out of my writing class last week definitely takes a load off my shoulders. I already know that I have my Geology and Speech finals in the bag, but as far as Calc II goes, I’m gonna have to put in some major study time because that stuff can throw you for a loop, and the last thing I need is to be drawing a blank during my final exam.

After finals, I have about 17 days before I make that 11 hour drive down to Atlanta. I’m excited about going because it’s my first time being away from home, but I’m also nervous for that very same reason. I’m looking forward to seeing what A-Town has in store for me. It’ll definitely suck being away from my family and friends for almost 3 whole months, but I know that this trip is setting some wheels in motion. Final Destination: A Career. I try not to think about it though. I’ll take things as they come along. Read more »

No Complaints.

It’s almost 2 am and I’m up reading whilst listening to Miles Davis & Thelonious Monk over on Last.fm.
Ice Cube said it best… Today Was A Good Day.

My Thoughts: Real, Raw & Unabashed

Preface: This post is in no way shape or form an attempt to disrespect or demean anyone. These are my thoughts: real, raw and unabashed.

I’ve always been the type of person that has been known to go out of their way to do for others. There have been times where I’ve driven across town from school, knowing I was low on gas just to drop off some food for a friend because I stopped past Checkers for myself. There have been times when I’ve gone out of my way to pick a friend up from work on a few occasions. There was the time when I ferried one of my boys and his “broad of the moment” around while they were out on a “date”. There was even a time when I drove a friend back home to PG County (pretty much 5 minutes from the DC-MD border) at 3 AM because the friend that brought her to Baltimore did not feel like taking her back home. I mention these things, not because of wanting to gloat, and not because I’m trying to cop the ‘Best Friend of the Year’ award, but because I don’t mind doing for people that I hold close to me.

O.S.A.G. Week 17: Feeling The Crunch.

After last week’s entry, I was on a bit of an emotional high. I got the internship I wanted, the lowest grade I have is A ‘B’ in Calc II, and lastly, I’m starting to see results from this O.S.A.G. thing. Everything’s going well…or at least it should be. Last week an unexpected bill popped up, which resulted in me having to put the majority of my paycheck, in addition to the little bit of money I had stashed in savings up to pay for it. After I paid the bill, I had a choice to make. Do I save the last little bit of money I have for gas, or do I go to the market and try to make due with what I have. Well, OPEC won that battle, and my money. Being on a fixed income sucks but seeing as how it’s temporary I guess I can’t complain too much. There’s no point in complaining about something that you have limited to no control over.
